Basketball Recap: Chapel Hill Falls to Knightdale in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Chapel Hill unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Knightdale Knights by a score of 50-47 on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Chapel Hill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makhai Manning went 5-for-10 to rack up 18 points. Jeremiah 'Juice' McIlwaine was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Brennen Jefferson went supernova For Knightdale., shooting 61% from the field en route to 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tre Roper, who posted 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Knightdale has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Chapel Hill will be taking part in a tournament against East Wake at 12:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Knightdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Panther Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
