Baseball Recap: South Fremont Beats Teton for Their Third Straight Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither South Fremont nor Teton made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Timberwolves. The win was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jordan Hammond made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, South Fremont let Tayson Farley and Hudson Miller run wild. Farley went 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base, while Miller went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. South Fremont is 2-1 when Farley posts three or more hits, but 10-11 otherwise. Bryce Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

South Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

The victory got South Fremont back to even at 12-12. As for Teton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

South Fremont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Teton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Jefferson at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
