Basketball Recap: Ocean Township Takes a Loss

Ocean Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The game between the Ocean Township Spartans and the Toms River South Indians didn't end well, with the Ocean Township Spartans falling 56-40. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in January of 2022.

When it comes to explaining why Ocean Township lost, don't look at Aidan Saint Louis. Despite the final result, he shot 48% from the field en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 60% of Ocean Township's points, marking the fifth time in a row Saint Louis has posted more than a third of the team's points. Brody Bell was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

Ocean Township's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Toms River South, with the victory, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-16.

Ocean Township has already played their next matchup, a 46-16 defeat against Manasquan on the 27th. Toms River South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
