Basketball Recap: West Ridge Takes a Loss

West Ridge won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a blow against the St. Joseph Knights, falling 85-33. The match marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Tounde Yessoufou, who went 13 for 18 on his way to 27 points and seven rebounds for St. Joseph. Yessoufou's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Julius Price was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 assists.

West Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for St. Joseph, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

West Ridge will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tennessee at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for St. Joseph, they and Orem will face off at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. St. Joseph is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 86.9 points per game this season.
