Volleyball Recap: Trinidad Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Alicia Barron and Elia Bowman + How To Watch

Trinidad was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the La Veta Redhawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Miners of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Trinidad wouldn't go down easily and took La Veta into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-13, 25-23, 19-25, 15-11.

Elia Bowman and Alicia Barron certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Bowman had seven aces and four digs, while Barron had 20 digs.

Trinidad's record now sits at 3-15. As for La Veta, they moved to 2-18 with that victory, which also ended their 15-match losing streak.

Trinidad and La Veta could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Miners will face off against Sargent at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (297 vs. 72). Meanwhile, La Veta (ranked 310th) will meet Primero (ranked 138th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
