Basketball Recap: Conestoga Christian Takes a Loss

After soaring to 64 points the game before, Conestoga Christian was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 80-27 loss at the hands of the Linville Hill Warriors. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt Shrom, who posted eight points. Josh Boutaugh was another key player, putting up seven points.

It was another big night for Derian Peterseim, who went 13 of 20 on his way to 33 points and five rebounds for Linville Hill. That's the most points Peterseim has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Smucker, who put up eight points and eight rebounds.

Conestoga Christian moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Linville Hill, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Conestoga Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-43 victory against Dayspring Christian Academy on the 16th. As for Linville Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-43 win against Ephrata Mennonite on the 16th.
