Basketball Recap: Jesuit Takes a Loss

Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 52-39 to the Benson Tech Astros. The Crusaders were probably out for revenge after losing 56-43 to them when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Jesuit lost, don't look at Amani Lubrano. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. What's more, Lubrano also racked up four steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Audrey Bayless, who posted 15 points and three steals.

Jesuit's record is now 3-3. As for Benson Tech, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jesuit will welcome West Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jesuit is facing West Salem at the right time seeing as West Salem is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Benson Tech, they will look to defend their home court on January 7, 2025 against McDaniel at 6:30 p.m.
