Baseball Recap: Bellevue Christian Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Bellevue Christian owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Vashon Island Pirates. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Cash Erdman made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Erdman wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Luke Evenson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Vashon Island, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bellevue Christian beat the Pirates by a score of 10-0 later that day.
