            Softball Preview: Garrard County Golden Lions vs. Frankfort Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            The Garrard County Golden Lions are taking a road trip to  challenge the Frankfort Panthers  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Garrard County's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1  runs per game  this season, so Frankfort's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Garrard County took a 15-run  loss the last time they faced off against Somerset, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Garrard County had just enough and edged out Somerset  5-4 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

 Emily Hounshell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Jazlynn Shelton was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Zoe Jordon, who  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Frankfort lost  22-3 to Franklin County on Thursday.
 Garrard County's record now sits at 6-3. As for Frankfort, their defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 4-3.
