Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lenoir City). Everything went their way against the Deer Lakes Lancers on Saturday as the Lenoir City Panthers made off with a 16-6 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Panthers with their most commanding win of the season.
Lenoir City got a massive performance out of Addison Langley, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Langley has posted since back in April of 2024. Kylee Hanson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lenoir City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deer Lakes only posted an OBP of .360.
The win made it two in a row for Lenoir City and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Deer Lakes, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Looking ahead, Lenoir City will head out to challenge Midway at 7:35 p.m. on Friday. As for Deer Lakes, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Knoch at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
