Sierra and Downey pushed the score to 12-7 the last time they played Downey, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Timberwolves narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Knights 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Koa Rodrigues spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sierra's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chad Simas Jr., who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Sierra's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Downey, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra will face off against Patterson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Downey, they will take on Pitman at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
