Basketball Recap: Bradford Prep Takes a Loss

Bradford Prep's game on Thursday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a hard 77-63 fall against the Corvian Community Cardinals. The Bears have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Bradford Prep lost, don't look at Kaden Bradley. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 14 en route to 23 points and five assists. That's the most points Bradley has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Esaias Caves, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 12 points.

Corvian Community was led to victory by RJ Moore Jr. and Malachi McCutcheon. Moore Jr. went 7 of 12 en route to 20 points and six boards, while McCutcheon went 9 for 12 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. McCutcheon is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Doug Quarles III, who made all 5 shots he took for 12 points and seven boards.

Bradford Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Corvian Community, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Bradford Prep won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Langtree Charter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bradford Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. As for Corvian Community, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Lincoln Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln Charter will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Corvian Community surely won't give up without a fight.
