Solanco took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. Everything went their way against the Cocalico Eagles as the Solanco Golden Mules made off with a 9-2 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Mules sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Chase Sensenig made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Solanco let Ayden Herr and Derek Phipps run wild. Herr went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI, while Phipps scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Jayson Powl was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Solanco will welcome Annville-Cleona at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cocalico, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Daniel Boone at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
