Basketball Recap: Bucklin Comes Up Short

Bucklin was the 69-60 winner over Hodgeman County when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bucklin Red Aces fell 50-41 to the Hodgeman County Longhorns on Friday. The Red Aces have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hazen Rydquist was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds for Hodgeman County. Rydquist is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Kendall Burns was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to nine boards and six assists.

Bucklin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-2. As for Hodgeman County, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Bucklin will venture away from home to take on Pawnee Heights at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bucklin is facing Pawnee Heights at the right time seeing as Pawnee Heights is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. Hodgeman County has already played their next match (against Meade), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
