Basketball Game Preview: Notre Dame Titans vs. South Gallia Rebels

The Notre Dame Titans will venture away from home to face off against the South Gallia Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Notre Dame is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Ironton just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 56-32 to the Fighting Tigers. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Taylor Lasswell, who posted eight points. Jaysa Bryant was another key player, putting up 12 points and three blocks.

Meanwhile, after only 20 points in their last match, South Gallia made sure to put some points up on the board against Meigs on Saturday. South Gallia breezed by Meigs to the tune of 61-16. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Marauders are ranked 641st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Gallia's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Notre Dame, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.

Notre Dame didn't have too much breathing room in their game against South Gallia when the teams last played back in February, but they still walked away with a 70-64 victory. Will Notre Dame repeat their success, or does South Gallia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
