Softball Recap: Bell Blue Raiders vs. V.R. Eaton Eagles
Bell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They fell 9-4 to the V.R. Eaton Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 on March 3rd.
Rylie English spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Alina Vogt made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17-1. As for V.R. Eaton, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That lines up perfectly with their 16-5-1 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bell will take on rival Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, V.R. Eaton is set to face off against their familiar foe Keller Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.6, the Chargers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
