Basketball Recap: University's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

University fought the good fight in their overtime game against Piedmont on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Piedmont Highlanders by a score of 82-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (68), the Red Devils still had to take the loss.

University's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-6. As for Piedmont, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University will take on San Domenico at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. University knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully San Domenico likes a good challenge. As for Piedmont, they will square off against Bishop O'Dowd at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
