Recap: Pueblo South Colts vs. Arapahoe Warriors
The Pueblo South Colts's game on Saturday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 61-54 to Arapahoe. It was the first time this season that Pueblo South let down their fans at home.
When it comes to explaining why Pueblo South lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maurice Austin. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That was a full 50% of Pueblo South's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Will Flowers, who scored 15 points.
Among those leading the charge was Sam Kamstra, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season.
Pueblo South has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Arapahoe, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Pueblo South will head out on the road to challenge Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Allowing an average of 60.5 points per game, Air Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest. As for Arapahoe, they will be playing at home against Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Vista is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65 points per game.
