Softball Game Preview: Bethel Christian Kings vs. Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets

The Bethel Christian Kings will face off against the Norton Science & Language Academy Rockets at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bethel Christian has three straight victories, Norton Science & Language Academy has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Bethel Christian took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Fontana, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Kings skirted past the Steelers 4-2.

Maliyah Jarrett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Finlee Milhouse was excellent, scoring a run and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Norton Science & Language Academy came up short against Calvary Baptist on Tuesday, falling 23-2.

Bethel Christian pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Norton Science & Language Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
