Basketball Game Preview: Fredericktown Black Cats vs. St. Vincent Indians

The Fredericktown Black Cats will challenge the St. Vincent Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fredericktown has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while St. Vincent will arrive with four straight victories.

Last Monday, Fredericktown ended up a good deal behind Doniphan and lost 63-48.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Pj Reutzel, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Charis Moss, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Vincent). They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging a 70-20 win over Saxony Lutheran. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Indians with their most commanding win of the season.

St. Vincent's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-0. As for Fredericktown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Fredericktown came up short against St. Vincent in their previous matchup on Saturday, falling 53-41. Can Fredericktown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
