Preview: York Prep Patriots vs. North Central Knights
The York Prep Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the North Central Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on York Prep, who comes in off a win.
York Prep was handed a 69-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Cheraw on Friday. York Prep sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 victory over Cheraw. The win was just what York Prep needed coming off of a 96-27 loss in their prior match.
York Prep can attribute much of their success to Gracie Robinson, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds, and Payton Munsey, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to North Central, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They were outmatched by Central on the road and fell 58-22. North Central has not had much luck with Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
York Prep pushed their record up to 8-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for North Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
Everything came up roses for York Prep against North Central when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 55-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for York Prep since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
