Baseball Game Preview: Unity Reed Lions vs. Battlefield Bobcats

Unity Reed is 0-10 against Battlefield since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lions will challenge the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Unity Reed has given up an average of 17.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Unity Reed took on Potomac Senior on Monday. The Lions lost 12-2 to the Panthers. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Unity Reed saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Rafferty - JR, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Battlefield strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Osbourn Park. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Battlefield's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average this season. As for Unity Reed, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Unity Reed might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Battlefield when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
