Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cedar Shoals). Their defense stepped up to hand the Banks County Leopards a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. It was an even better day for Zulma Valdivieso-Gutierrez as she scored seven goals for her team.

With the win, Cedar Shoals broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7. As for Banks County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Cedar Shoals will welcome Athens Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Banks County, they will square off against Elbert County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Banks County's defense better be ready for this one: Elbert County has averaged an impressive 3.5 goals per game this season.
