Columbus came tearing into Saturday's matchup with eight straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Shiner Comanches by a score of 2-0. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Comanches, too.

Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Shiner, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coming up, Columbus will face off against St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Shiner, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rice Consolidated at 4:30 p.m. on September 5.
