Recap: Peoria Heights Patriots vs. Lexington Minutemen

While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, the Peoria Heights Patriots were not quite the Lexington Minutemen's's equal in the second half on Friday. The match between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Peoria Heights falling 67-49. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while Lexington is ranked 139th).

Lexington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ethan Storm led the charge by scoring 24 points along with six assists and six steals. The matchup was Storm's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Griffen Hari was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Peoria Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Lexington, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Peoria Heights is on the road again on Saturday and play against Calvary Christian Academy at 11:00 a.m. on January 6th. Calvary Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lexington, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
