Basketball Recap: Sydni Anderson Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Lexington ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets by a score of 60-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Lexington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sydni Anderson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. Anderson is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Izzy Saville was another key player, putting up 18 points and three steals.

Lexington was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Mill only posted 11 assists.

When it comes to explaining why Fort Mill lost, don't look at Kate Marker. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Marker a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natyia Parker, who posted six points and ten rebounds.

Lexington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.7 points per game. As for Fort Mill, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
