Basketball Game Preview: Akron Rams vs. Byers Bulldogs

Having just played yesterday, the Akron Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Byers Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Akron was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 36-35 to Haxtun. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Byers' good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt a 74-42 defeat at the hands of Burlington. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-15.

Akron will have to contain Averie Eymann as she made an impact in Byers' last game. She posted 17 points along with eight boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Eymann a new career-high in blocks.

Akron's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Byers, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-4.

Everything came up roses for Akron against Byers when the teams last played back in February of 2022, as the team secured a 51-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Akron since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
