Basketball Recap: Greer Middle College Comes Up Short

Greer Middle College has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-67 heartbreaker at the hands of the Broome Centurions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blazers have suffered since November 25, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Broome to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Ramirez, who went 5 for 10 to rack up 14 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Ramirez has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Damarius Jeter, who had 13 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

Greer Middle College's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Broome, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.

Looking ahead, Greer Middle College will venture away from home to take on Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Union County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season. As for Broome, they have already played their next game, a 65-53 victory against Mountain View Prep on the 6th.
