Baseball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Palma Chieftains, falling 13-7. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Chieftains recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Brooks Drake was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Noah Magana, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 8-17-1. As for Palma, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will take on Carmel at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Padres' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Sharks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Palma, they will challenge Soledad at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
