Basketball Recap: Shrewsbury Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Shrewsbury and Franklin squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Shrewsbury had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Franklin Panthers and fell 86-49. While losing is never fun, the Colonials can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd in Massachusetts, while the Panthers are ranked first in Massachusetts).

The defeat snapped Shrewsbury's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-9 record. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points over those games. As for Franklin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-1.

As of now, neither Shrewsbury nor Franklin have any future games scheduled.
