Baseball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Orosi's Winning Streak

Orosi dropped their record down to 8-10-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 10-1 to the Orange Cove Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on April 3rd.

Anthony Garcia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Garcia is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

As for Orange Cove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Orange Cove's side, Adrian Gonzalez looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gonzalez is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 7-9 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Orange Cove let Roman Ocejo and Josiah Guerra run wild. Ocejo went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Guerra went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Ocejo has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Lizaola, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Orosi has already played their next contest, a 6-0 loss against Farmersville on the 1st. As for Orange Cove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-4 win against Strathmore on the 2nd.
