Football Recap: Rogers City Piles Up the Points Against Onaway + How To Watch

Rogers City won the last time they faced Onaway and things went their way on Friday too. The Hurons breezed past the Cardinals to the tune of 56-22. With the Hurons ahead 36-8 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Leading Rogers City to victory were Cayden Rhode and Bryan McKinstry. Rhode rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while McKinstry threw for 181 yards and three TDs on only 15 passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Rhode a new career-high.

Rogers City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Nolan Lesko, Rhode, and Austin Lesko picked up one apiece.

The win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for Rogers City, bringing their record up to 3-0. As for Onaway, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rogers City will welcome Whittemore-Prescott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Hurons their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Onaway, they will host Forest Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
