Softball Recap: Stigler Panthers vs. McAlester Buffaloes
Stigler gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over the McAlester Buffaloes. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Panthers have posted since September 27, 2023.
Stigler let Nolee Blanchett and Jordan Johnson loose on the outfield. Blanchett scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Johnson scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Rilee Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Stigler didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with five strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've earned since back in August of 2023.
Stigler will host Broken Bow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McAlester, they will head out to challenge Bishop Kelley at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
