Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Serena

Serena had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Somonauk Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Friday.

Serena easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-21.

Anna Hjerpe paced Serena's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hjerpe got some help from Rebekah Shugrue and her 26 assists. Trinity Weber controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Serena's victory bumped their record up to 18-9-1. As for Somonauk, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Serena will challenge Marquette at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskers are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Somonauk, they will head out to challenge Plano at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
