Recap: Charleston Trojans vs. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights
After losing to the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights the last time they met, the Charleston Trojans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Charleston took their matchup on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 59-26 win over Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. Given Charleston's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond is ranked 518th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Charleston can attribute much of their success to Adam Rudibaugh, who scored 20 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Rudibaugh has scored at least 25% of Charleston's points. Luke Bonnstetter was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Charleston and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Charleston is on the road again on Friday and play against St. Joseph-Ogden at 8:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, they will square off against Watseka at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
