The Mt. Vernon Mountaineers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by McDonald County at home and fell 67-36. Mt. Vernon's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-14. As for McDonald County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
Mt. Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McDonald County, they will head out on the road to face off against Marshfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Marshfield is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
