Basketball Preview: Thornton Wildcats vs. Richwoods Knights
Having just played yesterday, the Thornton Wildcats will jump right back in to play the Richwoods Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Thornton had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Freeport as Thornton made off with a 61-41 win.
Jordan Maple was nothing short of spectacular: he went 5 for 9 en route to 20 points plus seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in threes (four). Another player making a difference was Jeremy Blanco-Rios, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points plus six assists.
Meanwhile, Richwoods and Lutheran met for a duel on Monday where Richwoods came out on top. Richwoods blew past Lutheran 70-50.
