Softball Game Preview: Delavan-Darien Comets vs. Clinton Cougars

The Delavan-Darien Comets will square off against the Clinton Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Delavan-Darien: they have been struggling with 12 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Clinton has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Delavan-Darien fell victim to Turner and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 12-0.

Meanwhile, Clinton owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Cambridge. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Not much got past Andie Bell, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Cambridge off the board. Bell has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Macy Hinze, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Maycee Morris was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Delavan-Darien's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clinton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
