Long Beach Poly extended the longest winning streak in Moore this week by beating Millikan, 54-16. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Woodrow Wilson was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Bruins defeated Cabrillo 21-19.
The Jaguars' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kaelon Price threw for 193 yards and Da'Morre Johnson had 89 yards receiving. On the ground Rico Martin chipped in 136 yards. Tylen Douglas helped Cabrillo's passing attack out by catching three balls for 43 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Price of Cabrillo is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1483. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Woodrow Wilson's Tonny Lindsey has rushed for 1307 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zimari Manning. The Woodrow Wilson star has 41 catches for 765 yards.
Two of the top units in Moore will face off this week when John Janzen's team takes on Long Beach Poly. The Bruins' offense has racked up 236 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Raul Lara's team has allowed only 156 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Jackrabbits take on Woodrow Wilson. As it stands, Long Beach Poly is in second, while the Bruins are in third.
