Basketball Recap: Woodsboro Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jaqulynn Tully and Aniya Zena

Woodsboro lost against Yorktown back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Woodsboro Eagles came up short against the Yorktown Wildcats, falling 54-32. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woodsboro's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aniya Zena, who posted 14 points and seven boards, and Jaqulynn Tully, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Tully is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game.

Even though they lost, Woodsboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Woodsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Yorktown, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-9.

Woodsboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-23 loss against Port Aransas on the 17th. Yorktown has also already played their next contest (against Three Rivers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
