Soccer Game Preview: Oldenburg Academy vs. Rising Sun

The Oldenburg Academy Twisters will take on the Rising Sun Shiners at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oldenburg Academy's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Oldenburg Academy is headed into the matchup having not lost since September 20 and will look to keep things rolling. They and Lawrenceburg finished up their contest with a 3-3 draw on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Milan kept up with Rising Sun until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Shiners blew past the Indians 3-0. Rising Sun might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Weston Cumberworth and Carson Wilson scored all three of Rising Sun's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

The win made it two in a row for Rising Sun and bumps their season record up to 9-5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. With that draw, Oldenburg Academy's record moves to 8-4-4.

Oldenburg Academy beat Rising Sun 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Twisters since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
