Basketball Recap: Mourning Falls Short of Somerset Academy in the Playoffs

Mourning and Somerset Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Mourning had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Somerset Academy Panthers, falling 79-37. The Sharks just can't catch a break and have now endured ten defeats in a row.

Somerset Academy was led to victory by Khimari Hudson and Christian Smith. Hudson dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Smith went 6 of 8 on his way to 16 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Hudson a new career-high in points. Alexander Rivers was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

Mourning's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Somerset Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-11.

Mourning does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Somerset Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-49 victory against Reagan on the 5th.
