Champaign Central has gone 8-1-1 against Mattoon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Maroons will take on the Greenwave at 5:00 p.m. Champaign Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.8 goals per game this season.

Champaign Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Normal West on Thursday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1.

Champaign Central's goal came courtesy of Rylie Schulze, who's now up to 13 this season.

Meanwhile, Mattoon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Boilermakers.

Champaign Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Mattoon, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Champaign Central skirted past Mattoon 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maroons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
