Soccer Game Preview: Grafton vs. Manor

The Grafton Clippers will square off against the Manor Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Grafton and three for Manor.

Grafton fell victim to Smithfield and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Packers. While losing is never fun, Grafton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Smithfield are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, Manor also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Kempsville on Friday, falling 10-0.

Manor's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went Grafton's way against Manor when the teams last played back in May of 2022, as Grafton made off with a 7-0 win. Will the Clippers repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
