Recap: Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights vs. McNair Mustangs
The Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 46-32 to McNair. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Elite Scholars Academy of the 49-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Promise Omelogu and Hannah Williams certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Omelogu scored 16 points along with two steals, while Williams scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Omelogu has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played.
McNair's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amani Holmes led the charge by scoring ten points. Kei'asia Clayton was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Elite Scholars Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for McNair, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Elite Scholars Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays Landmark Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Elite Scholars Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 518th, while Landmark Christian is ranked 224th). McNair does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
