Basketball Game Preview: Pacifica Tritons vs. Santa Barbara Dons

Pacifica hasn't had much luck against Santa Barbara recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Pacifica Tritons will head out to face off against the Santa Barbara Dons at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Pacifica is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Hueneme to the tune of 84-45 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Tritons have posted since December 14, 2024.

Meanwhile, Santa Barbara entered their tilt with Ridgefield on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took down the Tigers 66-52.

Santa Barbara pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Pacifica, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-13.

Pacifica was dealt a bruising 84-43 defeat at the hands of Santa Barbara in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Santa Barbara's Luke Zuffelato, who shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds.
