Baseball Recap: Lake Cormorant Comes Up Short

Lake Cormorant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saltillo Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Saltillo this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 last Tuesday.

Lake Cormorant saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Streiber, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Streiber also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another was Brayden Collins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lake Cormorant's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Saltillo, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-4.

Coming up, Lake Cormorant will challenge South Panola at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Cormorant's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Saltillo, they will take on Center Hill at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
