Basketball Game Preview: North Canyon Rattlers vs. Paradise Valley Trojans

The North Canyon Rattlers are taking a road trip to take on the Paradise Valley Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, North Canyon had to suffer through a 101-51 loss at the hands of Canyon View. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Jaguars are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paradise Valley). They put the hurt on Buckeye with a sharp 80-59 win on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Trojans have posted since December 17, 2024.

Paradise Valley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for North Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

North Canyon came up short against Paradise Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 64-53. Can North Canyon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
