The Keys Gate Knights will square off against the Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Keys Gate turned things around against South Miami on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cobras 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since February 18th.

Jaime Osorio looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Keys Gate is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Lazaro Puig was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hialeah-Miami Lakes). They never let Westland Hialeah get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory two weeks ago. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Jayden Chapman made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jose Lopez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Diorge Bernal, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Hialeah-Miami Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .682. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Hialeah-Miami Lakes' victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-7. As for Keys Gate, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
