Basketball Recap: Hobbton Takes a Loss

If Hobbton was riding high fresh off their 66-40 takedown of Union last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hobbton Wildcats took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Duplin Rebels on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Donavan Armwood was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds for North Duplin. North Duplin is undefeated when Armwood posts eight or more boards, but 7-10 otherwise. Anthony Kornegay was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points.

Hobbton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for North Duplin, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Hobbton nor North Duplin have any future games scheduled.
